30 Days of Sharing + Netflix!
Listening to old Celine Dion "My Heart Will Go On" makes me grin sometimes.
Just watched a movie called "Time and Tide" on Netflix. I've never watched their instant movies before! It was really rather awesome. The movie. Ahaha, let me tell you about the movie.

a gun case? Violin case? I do not know, but I would like to see that movie. I would like to see that movie very much.

I don't really know what the hell just happened, but it was pretty awesome. I might just be saying that because I was distracted by Nicholas Tse. Who knows. Also, Wu Bai was awesome.
So I am a few shades of sick. Or ... something. It's a very lightheaded, dizzy feeling. Mom and I think that it might be my body finally relaxing after the holiday rush where my body was very tense and I had a lot of stress, maybe? I don't know. All I know is that it's a sick feeling. And that I came home early (thank you!) and slept for three hours. Still not feeling grand.
Also, my waterbottle opened up in my messanger bag this morning and flooded it. So now I need to get another sketchbook because mine got waterlogged. My money also got wet, as did the book I was reading T__T;
One of my earbuds is on the fritz, and I got shredded in the stomach by a gate latch at work and and- it's been an interesting day! Oh, and Erica, our dog walker, got giardia and Bossman blames us for not cleaning enough over the holidays. To which Chris and I gave him flat looks of disbelief.
Anyways.

Today I was happy!
Some things that were good about today:
1. Trekking through the Arboretum with Kitri, complete with muddy detours. A bracing walk really makes you feel like a human.
2. Seeing Jen-wen again. I haven't seen her in such a long time! We discussed many things. Her room is such a haven of tranquility.
3. Going to the grocery store at midnight with my brother. He's one of the only people who truly understands how crazy/sane I am. Ahh modernity.
I went to the grocery store aiming to buy whatever I could think of that I wanted to eat, and I only came up with satsumas, bananas, dried cranberries, cereal, yogurt, health bars, and salmon dip. What's wrong with my body!?
I think I'm going to throw away all my responsibilities for tonight and go on a reading binge. I've been dying to read.

I have never read Darius and the Clouds nor do I ... think I ever really want to (it reminds me of high school readings) but I found that quote a long time ago and fell in love with it. And then I dreamed about it years ago and the sky and that was that. (it is actually from a book called "The House on Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros.)

Still really happy about not having a million dogs in for boarding :D A nutty, loud day today, though, with boxers in and Jack and.. it was just loud.
Casper (the white boxer) also caught my right under the palm with a canine tooth. Caught the tendon of my wrist with that tooth, and dragged... didn't break skin or anything, but I am going to have a fierce bruise and my hand keeps going numb and tingly. Great. Thanks Casper. Also, Chris said that Alpine is to me how Sailor and Sophie are to him. Sailor (a border collie) and Sophie (a belgian melanois) dote on Chris, and follow him around and are always right there beside him HI WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU SHALL WE PLAY and it is hillarious to watch. Alpine is a crazy little sheltie pup (not a year yet) and I think it's because I'm the only one who actually likes him that he follows me around all the time XD; Who knows. He makes me laugh a lot~
I also got sick today, and felt very poorly for a goodly bit of it. Feeling better now, but ech.

I was so annoyed today. During the holidays I basically forgot to take care of every responsibility, and now I have to clean up after myself.
Sorting my life into my new room (my sister's old room) at home is so therapeutic. There's a Japanese tradition called Oo-souji (the great cleaning) in which you clean everything for the New Year. I'd like to think I'm doing something like that.
I got something in the mail saying that I've received all my unemployment benefits. I guess I have been unemployed for 5 months. I need to file for a federal extension, but I hope to have a job by the end of the month...
Also, I have a new BPAL order all finalized! I'm going to buy it if I get the job, along with a Burberry wallet I've been longing for. (Not frivolous! My old wallet is pretty much destroyed.)
Amanda and I had our six-month anniversary the other day. <3 We started our evening at Sake Nomi, a sake bar in Pioneer Square. The guy there is a real expert. Then we had a delicious meal at Poppy in Capitol Hill, where my cousin works as a chef, and then visited Hot House Women's Spa (again) before returning home. Hedonism!

I have many, many favorite books but the one I always seem to say is my favorite is this one:
Yes, it is a romance novel. No, it is not a trashy romance novel. It has time traveling, and I do not know how many times I've read it now. My copy is so mangled by now. TT;
Amazon's Review of the book, with a summary. The book just makes me happy. (Ahaha, I feel like I have to defend myself because one of my favorite books is a romance novel. Oh dear. XD)

Work was niiiiiiiice. And so quiet this morning. We had what, eight dogs in? It was glorious. And then we had a bundle of daycare dogs and and yes. Was nice. Was very nice.
There is drama brewing on the horizon, though, and I do not know how much longer Jen is going to be working with me, which is kind of sad as I like her. Well, I like her when she is not being an overly dominant bitch person. Because that just irritates me. A lot. But enough of that~
My toes are cold! An arborist came by tonight to take a look at our trees. We are getting them trimmed (they are past due to get a little grooming done) and yes. Also getting the four pampus grass in the parkingstrip removed and... that's going to take a lot to get used to ;_; But they are a hazard when backing out of the garage and... but they've been there for ages now. Oh... well... I just hope I do not start walking up the hill to the sight of them sawing them apart. TT;

30 Days of Sharing and Montesano
It keeps getting stranger and stranger to go down to Montesano and to stay in my Grandmother's old house as time moves forward. It's nearly empty, now, but the three of us still can hear her laughing at our silly conversations and the house is filled to the brim with memories of trying to cook a squash in a microwave and heating gravy for twenty minutes and a great number of things.
And I'll always remember what her home looked like when I grew up- full of light and life and glass balls and old things that smelled good.
I also got to see my cousin and his family! My cousin is as close as I'm ever going to get to having a brother, and we tease each other endlessly. I found out that he has a girlfriend that he's known for two years (don't know how long they've been dating) and so I got to tease him about that... it was good times.

I don't watch much TV, but right now I am loving on Castle so very much. Oh Nathan Fillion.
And tomorrow, less dogs then we've had in months! I am looking forward to it so much. Hurrah for the end of the Holiday Season~! Well, both hurrah and sadness. I love the holidays, but hurrah on the work front, eh? Yessss.

2009
I had a good 2009. 2008 was a difficult transition year for me, but 2009 saw improvements in many areas.
For 2009 I didn't have resolutions, but I did have "hopes and wishes". Let's see how I did!
1. First, a new place to live. This one is in progress, actually. [...]
Well, this one didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I have yet to figure out how to successfully evaluate a place to live... sigh. I am glad I lived there, though. I got a lot out of being in a new part of Seattle.
2. A better job doing something I want to do. [...]
All my dreams were fulfilled and now I'm on my way to a career in Japanese! It was more than I could have asked for.
3. More traveling! I'm starting to realize how important traveling is to me and how good it is for my mental health. [...]
I got this one - mostly thanks to Amanda. I went to all kinds of places - Oakland/SF, DC, NYC, Pittsburgh, Portland, Tacoma, Bainbridge Island, Spokane. It really helped my sanity.
Now, my new resolutions for 2010:
1. Have better boundaries. (Don't get so caught up in others' lives.)
2. Be more authentic. (Represent myself and my feelings honestly.)

Year in Review '09 Version!

May it be smoother, eh? It's brand new and shiny~ I have no idea what is going to happen, but I hope it goes at least sort of well for everyone.
February
Slept like a log last night and oh the dreams I had.
Oh yes, I am home.

So I'm just... not happy. This weekend had it's ups and downs and weird talks.

Today went by well, I guess~ Met another Boston Terrier today named Walter. He's nine months old and is what Chris calls a "Ninja Boston" XD

So today was extremely quiet. Work was almost boring because of how slow it was today.

Christmas was good, and then it was not so good and I was smacked in the head by hormonal angst, but I'm still saying it was a good Christmas.
Still kind of amazed that I have another day before I have to go back to work. Amazing~
Oh, and yes, my house is kind of green in places. She's old now, and I don't know how many decades it's been since she's been painted- so yes. (Don't you worry about the coat picking up any green from that ^_~)
